More about Jo...
I was always colouring and drawing and by the time I got to college, Art had become a "must" as one of my chosen subjects.
Business and family took priority for some years but interior design was of great interest to me and so I enrolled in a 2 year course to complete my diploma. During this course we had a term to complete a paper on art history and also the course revolved around colour and design. Although my husband Rod and I operated an interior design business in Auckland, the desire to paint again was becoming ever stronger.
On moving to Kinloch in 2009 I was really able to concentrate and direct my energies into being a full time artist.
I work with acrylics and my style is contemporary, abstract and semi abstract and I have my own studio/gallery in Kinloch. I have had several solo exhibitions and have exhibited in galleries around New Zealand, selling works both locally and internationally. I have my own facebook art page ( studio40Kinloch ) where viewers can follow my journey. The Taupo Art Connection Art Trail at Queens Birthday weekend is a highlight of the year and for many locals and visitors it is a great chance to see excellent artisic works at affordable prices.
Please feel free to get in touch with me, I would love to hear from you!
